School Age Child Care

Birmingham Community Education's School Age Child Care program is a state-licensed before and after-school program. It is a service that caters to elementary-aged students who are enrolled in Birmingham Public Schools. This program aims to provide a safe, comfortable, an engaging environment for children from junior kindergarten to fifth grade, before and after school hours. SACC is offered at all eight elementary and BCS schools. Children will have the opportunity to engage in a variety of sports, games, literacy and free-choice time. 

Operating from Monday-Friday throughout the school year. SACC offers various registration options including half-days, as well as morning and afternoon sessions. It strictly follows the district calendar. It will commence the first FULL day of school in the fall and only operate on days when regular classes are being held. It will end on Wednesday, June 10.

Half-day care is available on 7 dates this year. You can request care on the system by clicking 'Non-School Day' care. Half-day care is also available for junior kindergarten- 5th grade students this year.
